On Monday, September 21st, 2020, Eric Kimber Wald, loving husband to Melody Stone-Wald and father to Jacob and Lucas Wald passed away at the age of 50.
Eric was born on November 10th, 1969 in Cleveland, Ohio to Kimber and Nancy Wald. Growing up Eric graduated from Glenelg High School and Howard County Community College before attending the University of Maryland; where he obtained his degree in Information Systems. Since obtaining his degree Eric has worked in information systems for the last 22 years with Thermofisher and most recently Key Impact Sales.
Eric met the love of his life Melody in 1993; while working at then People’s Drug Store in Olney, MD. They went on to be married on June 20th, 1998 and since had two sons Jacob born in 2002 and Lucas born in 2006; who were the loves of his life. Aside from being a loving and caring husband and father; Eric had a strong devotion to his Lutheran faith which showed in everything he did. Eric was an active volunteer through his church and through his community; ready to help anyone who needed it. He enjoyed watching his Steelers play on Sunday and fishing when he had the opportunity. There wasn’t a better person for crunching numbers and remembering dates. But most of all, Eric enjoyed spending time with his family; whether it be watching a movie, tv, or traveling.
Eric is preceded in death by his father, Kimber Wald; father-in-law, Myron Stone Sr; and niece, Elizabeth Wald. He is survived by his wife Melody Stone-Wald; sons, Jacob and Lucas Wald; mother, Nancy Wald; brothers and sisters, Jonathan and wife Susan, Christopher, Jeffrey and wife Kina, Katherine Connelly and husband Keith, Myron Stone Jr and wife Maria; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at Howell Funeral Home in Jessup, MD. Viewing will be held Sunday, September 27th, 2020 from 1pm-2pm for family and 2pm-5pm for the public. Funeral will be held Monday, September 28th, 2020 at 12pm; open to public. After the funeral, Eric will be laid to rest at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens, Marriottsville, MD.
Following the services, the Ridgley Run Community Center in Jessup, MD will be hosting a repast for family and friends to gather and share their memories of Eric. Please come and join the family as the celebrate the life of Eric Wald.
